Frequently Asked Questions

What are Eyelash extensions?

Eyelash extensions are the hottest beauty trend designed to lengthen and thicken your eyelashes for a more defined, vibrant and luscious affect. They are made of a long lasting synthetic eyelash extensions applied directly to your natural lashes using a safe and exclusive, lash bonding agent.

What are eyelashes made of?

Each individual lash, is made of hypo-allergenic synthetic fibers and molded to mimic the natural lash, is delicately and artistically applied, one at a time, by hand to create a natural, glamorous or dramatic gaze and to blend seamlessly with your natural eyelashes.

How are haute lashes applied?

You will recline comfortably with your eyes closed and protected throughout the procedure. Most clients fall asleep because soft relaxing music is played during the duration of the procedure, or you can bring your own music if you like  you will feel relaxed for 2 to 2 ½ depending on the lash look you desire touch ups take less time: approximately 1 hour, I will apply lashes one lash to one lash, using a safe, exclusive  lash bonding agent.

How do I prepare for my procedure?

Do not curl your eyelashes or wear any mascara. Remove contact lenses and toughly clean your lashes with mild water based cleanser. Eyelids and eyelashes must be completely clean and dry. If you wear waterproof mascara you should refrain from wearing it for a day or two before your appointment. Waterproof mascara can be difficult to remove and often leaves a residue on the lashes; it can become very time consuming to remove it completely and cuts into your application time. Also avoid consuming energy drinks or any caffeinated beverages, before the procedure. The effect of the caffeine makes you prone to fluttering, consequently making the procedure very difficult

How long will the eyelash extension last?

With the proper care, the lash extension will last until the natural lash sheds or grows out and falls off. Everyone's experience will differ based on care, activities, and oil production. Touch-ups are recommended every 3 - 4 weeks, after your initial full set, to keep them replenished and full looking.

What are the different lengths of lashes?

It is recommended that we use a variation of lash length to create a natural look. In some cases I also use flare extensions to fill in lash gasps.

What do eyelashes feel like?

Properly applied lash extensions should feel weightless and natural, like your own lashes. You should never feel any poking, tugging or heaviness.

Can I use an eyelash curler on eyelash extensions?
Haute lash extensions have a beautiful lift to them already. There should never be a need to use eyelash curler. Traditional eyelash curlers that crimp the lash will break the bond of the extension and could cause breakage of the natural lash. However, if there is a need for a curler then a heated eyelash curling wand is recommended.

How often will I need to get the lash extensions touched-up?
It is recommended to have your extensions touched-up every 3 - 4 weeks. Due to the natural growth cycle, lashes shed randomly and continuously taking along with them the bonded extension. Other factors such as a regular exposure to steam, water, extreme cold, touching or rubbing or the eyes can cause extensions to fall out. Regular touch-ups keep your lashes looking thick and beautiful.

Do you offer eyelash extension removal?
Yes, if you wish to remove your lashes before they naturally fall out, will be an additional charge. I also offer this service if you applied your lashes at another studio. I use a professional adhesive remover.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
Do never remove the lash extension on your own; pulling on the lashes can cause breakage and loss of natural lashes.

Can I wear mascara with eyelash extensions?
Yes, even though the need for mascara is eliminated since the extensions are blacker and thicker than most natural lashes, it can be worn. Only water soluble mascara is recommended and only a water-based remover should be used on the extensions. Apply the mascara to the tips of the lash only, avoiding the base of the lash. Waterproof mascara is strongly discouraged as it is too difficult to remove. Excessive use of mascara or any oil-based products around the eye area can disintegrate the bonding adhesive causing the extension to fall off prematurely.

Are the eyelash extensions safe?
Yes, the eyelash extensions are never applied directly to your eyelids. The procedure is pain-free and will not harm your eyelids or natural lashes.

Can I wear contact lenses during the procedure?
We recommend for clients to remove their contact lenses during the procedure, (we will provide a clean sterilized case for you to put them in). The client eyes will be closed for a few hours. Contacts are safe to wear but we suggest removing them for comfort.

Are lashes good for men?
Yes, eyelash extensions are for men and women, it is really popular now for men to add an appropriate masculine look to their eyes. Lash extension enhance men confidence for important meetings and in addition gives power to the eye contact in both personal and business relationships. Eyelash extensions on men achieve a more youthful, appearance.

What color eyelash accents are available?
Black, brown, golden brown, red, green, yellow, maroon, blue and purple.

Can I wear eyelash extensions if I suffer from allergies?
Eyelash extensions are not for everyone. If you have allergies that cause the tissue of your eyelids to swell or eyes to itch, then you are not a good candidate for lash extensions. Any rubbing, picking, or excessive touching in the eye area can cause the extensions to break off or fall off taking with it your natural lash. Lashes that are prematurely uprooted from the follicle can create bald spots and possible permanent damage.
Anyone with allergies to adhesives or acrylic nails is also not good candidates for eyelash extensions.
